The Chartered Institute of Project Managers of Nigeria – CIPMN has various membership categories. The two main categories eligible for being granted a license alongside after completing all relevant requirements are the Fellow and Chartered Categories Only

FELLOWSHIP CATEGORY

He / she should be a member of a relevant professional or administrative standing who is willing to;

  1. Submit a request (Click Here) and write an application through council request via the registrar which may be approved after the council comprehensive review.
  2. When approved, Candidates will be required to make the payment of the  sum of N1,500,000 for the category

Other Requirements

  1. Has served as a chartered member for at least five(5) years and have applied for the Fellowship Category or have experience in a senior Project Management post in a private or public organization for minimum seven (7) years.
  2. Be in the most senior level within the Institute and stand the opportunity of presenting papers during CIPMN’s events.

CHARTERED CATEGORY

Application Fee: N10,000, Membership Registration Fee: N250,000, Licensing Training Fee: N150,000

 In this category, you will be in a senior position within the Institute. Eligible to contest in the CIPMN’s leadership elections, along with the opportunity to present opinion papers during CIPMN’s events. Ideally, you must have passed all examinations prescribed by the council and have a minimum of two years continuous experience.

    1. He/She must have a minimum of five (5) years work experience.

    2. He/She will be required to update his/her professional knowledge at least once a year through CIPMN’s Mandatory proficiency program.

    3. He/She must be a graduate.

    4. Professional qualification is an added advantage.

    5. Registered Chartered members are mandated to pay the sum N150,000 for the licensing training upon completing the membership registration process.

ASSOCIATE CATEGORY

Application Fee: N10,000, Membership Registration Fee: N150,000

If he is in possession of requisite qualifications from other fields of study as may be determined from time to time by the Council.

    1. He/She must be a graduate from a Higher Institution (BSc, HND).

    2. He/She must have a minimum of three (3) years work experience.

    3. Professional qualification is an added advantage.

 If he is in possession of requisite academic qualification and has passed all the examinations prescribed by the Council.

    1. He/She must be a graduate from a Higher Institution (BSc, HND).

    2. He/She must have a minimum of One (1) year work experience or should be a serving corp member.

    3. Professional qualification as an added advantage.

STUDENT CATEGORY

Application Fee: N10,000, Membership Registration Fee : N50,000

 If he is pursuing a course in Project Management in any institution approved by the Council.

    1. He/She must be an undergraduate.

    2. He/She must present a proof of an Admission Letter from a reputable higher institute.

    3. Professional qualification is an added advantage.

  • Honorary Fellow (At institutes discretion): If he is a person of distinction in the Field of Project Management, Law, Accounting, Politics, Economics, Management, Engineering, or any similar discipline.
    1. Cannot vote or be voted for.
    2. No payment is required for this
  • Corporate Member (Varies by company): If it is an employer of labour and meets the criteria set by the Council for registration.
    1. All staff performing Project Management functions to be registered with the Institute so as to maintain ethical standards and self-regulating requirements.
